About Jay

Okay I guess this is the part where I become as self serving as I can be. It is after all MY studio website isn’t it? Right! Some people have called me a “creative genius” I prefer to think of myself as  “creative savant”. The skills that I have honed to a razor’s edge have only come as a byproduct of hard work and a determination to be the best. Not because I had to win anything or wanted a list of superlatives to put on my resume, but rather because that is what drives me. As a child I wanted to be a comic book artist. I studied from age 8 till age 18, always comparing myself – not to my peers – but rather to those I idolized. Was I good enough to be ranked among them? When I finally realized that there was no money to be made in that industry I changed my focus and instead took the skills I had developed in detail, layout and writing and began to use them in marketing. To me, marketing is just grown up comic books. My job is to take the assignment and make it tell a story. Many times that’s easy with audio or video but oft times it’s not that simple. How do I convey in copy and color the message. It’s not so much a matter of what I “should not” say, but rather what the right words to say are. Is my grammar the best? No. Spelling? Nope. Skills at layout? Uh-uh.

But I am brilliant.
